This paper discusses some problems in the machine translation of natural language, in particular, for translation from German into English. An implementation of some parts of the translating process has been built. The system consists of a German interpretive grammar, to take in German text and output a set of semantic representation, and a generator, to produce English sentences from single semantic representations.en_US
