dc.description.abstract | The eye-hand robot at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory now possesses the ability to occasionally copy simple configurations of blocks, using spare parts about whose presence it knows. One problem with which it cannot cope well is that of ambiguous scenes. This paper studies two types of ambiguity present in some scenes -- occlusion and illusion -- and proposes some ideas about effectively resolving the ambiguities through the use of the hand as an information detection device to work in conjunction with the eye. | en |
